The G Pygmy is a scale built on the Dorian mode, which lies between Minor and Major. This gives it great versatility in the moods it can express, from mysterious and melancholy to bright and cheerful. Its G tuning gives it a smooth and gentle sound overall, whichever mood is being expressed.

An excellent scale for beginners, and one of the most popular, the G Pygmy pairs well with the G Minor Pentatonic and E Pygmy Frog Drums, and its deep tones are great for enveloping sound as well as yoga and meditation implementations.
